How do you showcase a wide range of timber solutions without creating a catalogue-style display?
That was the challenge behind the project delivered by FG Design for PROTAC at the Carrefour International du Bois 2026, held from 2 to 4 June in Nantes. At this leading event for the timber industry, PROTAC wanted to do more than simply display its products: it wanted to place them in context, demonstrate their applications and encourage visitors to explore them.
A subsidiary of the ROSE Group since 1995, PROTAC is a French manufacturer specialising in timber solutions for residential and landscaping applications.
Making the product the centrepiece of the stand
The challenge was significant: to create a space capable of showcasing a wide range of timber solutions in different formats without overwhelming visitors or disrupting the flow of the stand.
Another key requirement of the brief was that PROTAC’s own products had to be incorporated directly into the stand design itself. A strong constraint that FG Design chose to transform into a creative statement.
From 3D… to final realisation
An open, warm and natural environment
PROTAC wanted a bright, welcoming space with minimal use of white and a strong presence of natural materials.
FG Design developed a stand structured around flowing waves of timber battens, defining the space without enclosing it. Light moves freely through the stand, the volumes feel open, and the products remain clearly visible throughout.
Textures inspired by mountain landscapes, comfortable furnishings and concealed storage areas combine to create an environment that feels warm, professional and seamless.
A design that won the tender
Having secured PROTAC as a new client through a competitive tender process, FG Design embraced the client’s products as a core design element, integrating them throughout the architecture and enhancing them at every stage of production.
The result is a bespoke, premium solution where timber becomes not only a material, but also an architectural feature and a true brand experience.
The result is magnificent. This project was conceived and delivered far more as a showroom than a conventional exhibition stand”
